Health and safety prosecutions are becoming more common, with increases in fines and even imprisonment for breaches in health and safety compliance. Penalties for non-compliance include unlimited fines against the business and/or individuals and prosecution, leading to reputation damage and possibly loss of business.
Employers have a duty in law to protect their employees from harm while in employment and to provide a comfortable, safe environment in which to perform their duties.
Companies should have a health and safety management system in place and review it periodically, in particular, the way in which their activities are managed and organised by senior management.

CHAS Application:
Are you looking to register with CHAS with a view to becoming CHAS accredited? improve your chance of winning tenders & profitable contracts?
CHAS is a health and safety accreditation scheme for the construction industry, and often acts as a type of pre-qualification during the tender process. The purpose of CHAS is to help both buyers and suppliers in the assessment of health and safety competence.
We have helped many businesses with their CHAS application and like to make the process as easy as possible. We do the hard work for you!
The CHAS Registration Assessment does not assess health and safety competence for specific types of work activities but concentrates on fundamental health and safety management and compliance issues as they apply to the work you undertake.
The list below shows the main areas that will be assessed by a CHAS Health and Safety Assessor as part of your CHAS application process, remember, in all cases plenty of documented evidence and worked examples must be provided with your completed CHAS application form to become a CHAS compliant contractor:
